Support/Assist in quoting new products for assigned customer accounts.   Principle Duties and Responsibilities: - Work with Product Managers, Plant Managers and Process Engineers on accurate costing information with a focus on product to process fit. - Provide cost estimates for new products including specifications, tolerances, cast weight for the lowest cost and best quality. - Work with customers to determine part geometry, print construction, and tolerancing with a focus on product to process fit. - Provide direct support to the customer on product design by visiting assigned customers’ engineering departments. - Work with assigned customers on VA/VE projects and cost reductions. - Create 3D models and 2D drawings in Creo to be approved by customers. - Manage all up front product engineering aspects with assigned customers on new product launches. - Develop good working relationships with tooling shops for quoting and tool manufacturing. - Initiate/Participate in APQP and technical reviews. - Work with each casting plant on continuous improvement projects related to product design, product manufacturing, and product processing. - Keep abreast of current technologies for cost reduction, production improvement and margin improvement.   Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements: - Knowledge of machining and other value-added processes preferred. - Knowledge of IATF quality system preferred. - Experience working with tooling suppliers and customers. - Sound knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. - Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, etc.). - Ability to plan for and coordinate activities of multiple projects. - Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills for presentation and technical report writing. - Approximately 30% travel required.

Job Description:  Preventative Maintenance is the regular and routine maintenance of equipment to keep them running and prevent any costly unplanned downtime from unexpected equipment failures. - Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, air hoods, goggles, face shield and proper prescription inserts (if required) etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures. - Visually inspects castings/parts – looking for defects such as: blow holes, sand holes, shrink, imperfect gates, crush, etc. – noting variances in part from visual criteria sheet/customer specifications. - Finishes parts by observing if the part meets cosmetic standards (surface appearance or determining any defects), removing remaining ‘risers’, grinding down ‘gate’ surfaces, and comparing to visual criteria sheet image and according to work instructions. - Operates various grinders to remove excess metal from parts. - Operates various automated cells to process castings. - Operates a fork truck. - Communicates (verbally) with peers, facilitators, and supervision to inform them of conveyor-system glitches, casting inconsistencies, quality concerns, maintenance requests, supply problems, etc. - Work in other areas/departments when needed (i.e. shakeout, core set, melt, etc.). - Troubleshoots work-related problems by trying to determine the source of the problem. - Uses precision-measurement devices to ensure compliance with customer/project specifications as defined in the visual work instructions. - Defines/categorizes defects determining if the part is to be scrapped. - Performs minor maintenance on the grinders (replacing wheels & bits) - Keeps work area clean by performing general housekeeping duties. - Gauging when required.
