You will be trained on inspecting castings visually and with a borescope per work instructions.  Visual inspections, you will be looking for casting defects.  Borescope instructions, you will be removing excess material from passages while looking tinto them with a borescope camera.  Packaging parts and tagging them with "certified" material tags.  Must maintain a clean and orderly work area.  May be assigned to other duties as needed.  This could be a 1st or 2nd shift position based on availability at the time of hire.

At MTI we believe that taking care of our employees means to ensure that they can live healthy balanced lives which results in better work performance.   General Summary: Providing superior engineering support on new and existing product designs.  Develop a close working relationship with the customer’s product engineering.  Provide the manufacturing facility with the necessary assistance to launch a product on time including: engineering support with 2D/3D product print/model analysis, APQP meetings, cost estimating, and Magma analysis.  Act as the principal contact between the customer and the manufacturing facility to assure that the manufacture of the product meets functional requirements at the lowest possible cost. Support/Assist in quoting new products for assigned customer accounts.   Principle Duties and Responsibilities: - Work with Product Managers, Plant Managers and Process Engineers on accurate costing information with a focus on product to process fit. - Provide cost estimates for new products including specifications, tolerances, cast weight for the lowest cost and best quality. - Work with customers to determine part geometry, print construction, and tolerancing with a focus on product to process fit. - Provide direct support to the customer on product design by visiting assigned customers’ engineering departments. - Work with assigned customers on VA/VE projects and cost reductions. - Create 3D models and 2D drawings in Creo to be approved by customers. - Manage all up front product engineering aspects with assigned customers on new product launches. - Develop good working relationships with tooling shops for quoting and tool manufacturing. - Initiate/Participate in APQP and technical reviews. - Work with each casting plant on continuous improvement projects related to product design, product manufacturing, and product processing. - Keep abreast of current technologies for cost reduction, production improvement and margin improvement.   Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements: - Knowledge of machining and other value-added processes preferred. - Knowledge of IATF quality system preferred. - Experience working with tooling suppliers and customers. - Sound knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. - Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, etc.). - Ability to plan for and coordinate activities of multiple projects. - Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills for presentation and technical report writing. - Approximately 30% travel required.  

General Summary: This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the melt operations and all applicable equipment   - Shift Premium: $1.50/hr 2nd shift (1:55 PM - 9:55 PM); $1/hr 3rd shift (9:55 PM - 5:55 AM) - Excellent Benefits - Pay for skill - earn more for what you know - Paid Vacation - Boot Allowance Essential Functions: - Operate iron transport crane system, assist with furnace charging activities, and slag furnaces. - Responsible for casting and maintaining of refractory lining of ladles, pig beds, furnaces, and related iron-handling surfaces. - Record data including heat temperatures, weights, carbon/silicon levels, alloys added, etc. - Prepares tundish ladle prior to tapping iron from furnace by adding alloys according to recipe. - Safe and efficient operation of overhead cranes (when assigned) to weigh a mix of steel scrap, pig iron and remelt to achieve proper charge mix. - Keep material bins clean and orderly. - Refers to daily production schedule for proper charge mix. - Responsible for casting and maintaining of refractory lining of ladles, pig beds, and related iron-handling surfaces. - Refers to daily production schedule for proper furnace analysis and temperature. - Pour melt lab samples, records analysis and make necessary adjustments to maintain required chemical/metallurgical specifications. - Takes furnace temperatures and adjusting temperature as required. - Removes slag from furnace, launder, and other surfaces as needed. - Taps iron from furnace when melt cycle is completed and iron is required by molding department. - Operates furnaces in an efficient and safe manner. - Follows work instructions for start-up and shut down of furnaces. - Adds proper inoculation for each charge to maintain customer specifications as per work instructions. - Keep records, logs, and /or charts as required. - Weekend work is usually required. - Maintains a clean and orderly work area. - May be assigned other duties as needed. - Required PPE: safety glasses, ear plugs, and kick off steel toed boots or spats with non-kick off style, gloves, hard hat, face shield, flame retardant jacket and flame-retardant pants.

Job Description:  Preventative Maintenance is the regular and routine maintenance of equipment to keep them running and prevent any costly unplanned downtime from unexpected equipment failures. This is a 1st shift opportunity that will require training on our equipment.    What you will be doing:  Follow preventative maintenance schedules for production lines.  Work with operators to clean machines and keep them performing at optimal performance.  Cleaning equipment, anywhere from lathes and mills to floors and coolant tanks.  Mopping floors and wiping down equipment in production cells.  Light mechanical preventative maintenance ranging from greasing chucks to removing covers and cleaning fans and motors.  You will be trained on how to lockout equipment and must work with safety in mind all the time.  Operator lift truck as needed.

We focus on process.     This position is responsible for implementing and improving systems to increase MTI’s sustainability.  Primarily, this position focuses on maintaining and improving the corporate and facilities’ Environmental Management Systems (EMS).  Additionally, a strong emphasis is placed on employee engagement, beneficial reuse, and energy efficiency enhancements.    Principal Duties and Responsibilities: - Implement projects to adhere to MTI’s stated Environmental Objectives. - Internal and external sustainability reporting (e.g. GRI, CDP, SAQ, Assent, etc.). - Implement and improve each facility’s EMS. - Develop/implement Supplier Environmental Assurance Program. - Routine ISO 14001 internal and 3rd party auditing. - Maintenance of each facility’s unique electronic Environmental Compliance Manual. - Collaborate with team to develop: - regulatory and EMS training programs, - on-site drills (spill, air pollution control equipment failure, etc.), and - solutions to emerging environmental issues. - Facility storm water, spill, and other drawings (AutoCAD and/or Solid Works) need to be maintained regularly in conjunction with the Corporate Engineering Tech. - Participate in Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement projects. - State-level industry group participation.  

- Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, air hoods, goggles, face shield and proper prescription inserts (if required) etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures. - Visually inspects castings/parts – looking for defects such as: blow holes, sand holes, shrink, imperfect gates, crush, etc. – noting variances in part from visual criteria sheet/customer specifications. - Finishes parts by observing if the part meets cosmetic standards (surface appearance or determining any defects), removing remaining ‘risers’, grinding down ‘gate’ surfaces, and comparing to visual criteria sheet image and according to work instructions. - Operates various grinders to remove excess metal from parts. - Operates various automated cells to process castings. - Operates a fork truck. - Communicates (verbally) with peers, facilitators, and supervision to inform them of conveyor-system glitches, casting inconsistencies, quality concerns, maintenance requests, supply problems, etc. - Work in other areas/departments when needed (i.e. shakeout, core set, melt, etc.). - Troubleshoots work-related problems by trying to determine the source of the problem. - Uses precision-measurement devices to ensure compliance with customer/project specifications as defined in the visual work instructions. - Defines/categorizes defects determining if the part is to be scrapped. - Performs minor maintenance on the grinders (replacing wheels & bits) - Keeps work area clean by performing general housekeeping duties. - Gauging when required.

                  JOB SUMMARY   Performs a variety of electrical and basic mechanical maintenance and repair work on plant equipment including:  Disamatic molding machines, shot blast machines, furnaces, pumps, fans, gear boxes, shafts, belts, water and air lines, valves, motors, electrical panels, generators, boilers, etc.    RESPONSIBILITES   - Fill out job tickets and document all work performed on assignment sheet. - Will be expected to verify, isolate, and do corrective actions on production line problems and breakdowns. - Conduct PM’s and document worked performed. - Shall communicate all inspections and repairs to supervision (Managers and/or Supervisor on duty). - Troubleshoot, maintain and repair foundry related electrical systems (i.e. relay logic and PLC) and equipment. - Install electrical systems to support a variety of Foundry related equipment. - Will be required to work on low and high voltage up to 575 vac, instrumentation, breakers, tap changers, inverters, reactors, capacitor banks, scr’s and diodes. - Perform various associated tasks and/or duties as required by all supervision. - Maintains a clean and orderly work area. - Ability to effectively organize multiple tasks. - Weekend work is usually required. - Employee will supply common tools.
